Basic documents/information needed for online submission:

• All passports

• Visiting card

• Two (02) recent copies of your photo (2 inch × 2 inch, white background)
• National Identity Card copy
• Parents’ and spouse’s information (name, date of birth and birthplace)
• Name, address and phone number of your present employer or school
• Monthly salary in local currency and designation (if employed)
• Previous employment details, if applicable: employer name, address, phone number, job title, supervisor’s name, and dates of employment (from–to)
• All educational institutions attended (if applicable): name of institution, address, course of study, and dates of attendance (from–to)
• Whether any of the following are in the U.S. (father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister, fiancé) — if yes, provide their name, relation, and status (LPR, U.S. citizen, studying, working, etc.)
• Names of previously visited countries

Documents to Carry at the Time of the Interview

For Business Persons:

1. Personal bank statement / company bank statement for the last six (06) months
2. Renewed trade license
3. Memorandum for limited companies
4. Import/Export certificate

For Job Holders:

1. Personal bank statement
2. No Objection Certificate (NOC)
3. Government Order (G.O.) for official passport holders
4. BMDC certificate for doctors
5. BAR Council certificate for advocates
6. Retirement documents for retired persons

For Students:

1. Student ID card photocopy
2. Birth certificate (only for children and infants)

Other supporting documents:
(a) Marriage certificate (b) Property ownership documents (c) Bluebook photocopy of the car, if any (d) Documentation of other income, if any (e) Proof of financial solvency such as FDR / share business / other savings / security deposit / cash investment (f) TIN certificate and tax return copy

Visa Bond Pilot Programme

B1/B2 applicants may be required to pay a refundable bond of up to $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 if their visa is approved. Immigrant visa issuance is currently paused for Bangladeshi nationals.

At the interview, the consular officer will inform the applicant whether they are eligible for a visa and will provide instructions on how to pay the bond. The bond is refunded if the traveler complies with the visa terms.

Required Ports of Entry

As a condition of the bond, all visa holders who have posted a bond must enter and exit the United States only through the designated ports of entry listed below. Failing to do so may lead to denied entry or a departure that isn’t properly recorded.

Dropbox / Interview Waiver

Visa renewals without an interview are no longer available at the U.S. Embassy. All applicants must schedule an appointment for a consular interview to apply for a U.S. visa.
